Internet Service Terms, Conditions, & Acceptable Use Policy

The Terms, Conditions, and Acceptable Use Policy below has the purpose of ensuring a responsible use of the Internet and its resources, and to prevent practices which degrade the usability of the network. It concerns the image and reputation of HofNet Communications, Inc. as a responsible service provider by taking care of security, reliability and privacy of HofNet Communications, Inc. systems and network. The following rules compose a policy for use of the systems and the network that is considered to be acceptable. The Acceptable Use Policy may be adapted to follow the evolution in technology, possibilities and Internet capabilities.
All bandwidth purchase packages are based on the ability to send or receive that maximum amount of traffic through that connection. It is in NO WAY a guarantee of dedicated access. HofNet Communications Inc reserves the right to terminate any agreements that over-utilize a specific purchased connection rate. Over-utilized is described as consistent packet distribution of 50% or higher of the maximum bandwidth purchased for any length of time. Good and fair judgment will be utilized by HofNet Communications Inc.
General Information & Disclaimers
1.) Hardware Requirements - A Pentium 3 or 4 PC is recommended with Windows 98, Windows 2000 or Windows XP. An Ethernet Card - if not installed on your computer - is required to receive the signal. A Antivirus program is a must do and may be purchased at the time of installation if not already installed on your computer. A Router is highly recommended as firewall protection from Internet outside hacking. A Surge Protector is also highly recommended. Both the router and surge protector are not included in price of installation.
2.) Unlimited Usage Policy - Please don't abuse the "unlimited" aspect of our service. "Unlimited" means that you will not be charged any hourly fees for access time to remain connected to HofNet Communications, Inc. Internet Service, for 4 hours consecutively . Unlimited usage does not mean you may leave your computer continuously connected to the internet while you are not utilizing the connection for specific needs. Fair Access or Use Policy implementation may be done so as demands of the network are required to minimize the impacts of excessive network utilization. You may not configure your computer so as to permit any other computer to access your machine while you are connected to HofNet Communications, Inc. Internet Service. You may not resell or transfer your access to others for any reason. Users who violate these guidelines may either be warned, refused future service, or their account terminated, depending on the seriousness of the violation.
3.) Personal Home Pages (Regardless of where they might be located on our system) are for personal information (Personal statistics, poems, hobbies, short stories, etc.), NOT for businesses or advertising. Please call about business pricing. You may mention that you own a business, but you may NOT link to your own business page unless you are paying separately for that business page. A business page is defined as a web-site wherein the owner of that page is advertising and/or attempting to garner business or income from that page. Personal home page space is provided as a FREE service to our customers. HofNet Communications, Inc. reserves the right to remove any personal page from it's system if it generates too heavy a load on our system, or contains inappropriate material.
4.) You, the account holder, are solely responsible and liable for the content of your Web Page (Personal or Business) and are further responsible for ensuring that it does not violate any applicable copyright, obscenity, state or federal laws and that it is appropriate for general public viewing. HofNet Communications, Inc. reserves the right to determine what is appropriate for public viewing on its system (s), and reserves the right to remove inappropriate content. The account holder is also responsible for maintaining back up copies of your respective pages. HofNet Communications, Inc. , (including, but not limited to) it's employees, agents, officers, and board members are hereby released and held blameless for loss of income or damage to web pages due to account closure, hard drive failure, or any other unforeseen event.
5.) HofNet Communications, Inc. 10% discounted 12 month wireless service plans are considered contracts for that time period. No refunds will be made by HofNet Communications, Inc. for customer requested early disconnect of service.
6.) Fair Access Policy ( Implementation May 1, 2015)limits any and all private users to a maximum of 70 Gb of downloaded data for any 30 day period. HofNet Communications, Inc. reserves the right to implement or execute this policy at any time to ensure network utilization is fair for users as we deem reasonable. Data usage above 70 Gb per month will be billed at $1.50 per Gb. It is highly recommended that all users manage their users on their network to ensure they stay within these guidelines.
Technical Support Policy
We will do our best to provide you with CONNECTION assistance and directly related issues. We cannot provide assistance with the Windows Operating System (OS) or other software, or assist you over the phone with similar program questions.
Because there are so many different products on the market (new ones added daily) YOU are responsible for setting up and configuring any software you purchase, or any software, shareware, or freeware downloaded from the Internet for your use, as well as removing that software, shareware, or freeware from your system.
All hardware related issues will be referred to your computer manufacturer.
By signing up for our service, you signify that you agree to and accept the policy as stated above. Further, you agree that you intend to be bound by the terms of this document and will abide by any future policies implemented by HofNet Communications, Inc.
